Shuttlesource is proud to release Volume Two of our space shuttle collection. This set includes some rare footage from the second flight of Columbia to the first flight of the newest orbiter Challenger. This collection of 9-DVD's covers STS-2, STS-3, STS-4, STS-5 and STS-6. Total video time is 8 hours+. Please note all this footage is from NASA Select TV (no interruptions) and does not include any network coverage.

STS-2 Complete Mission (37 Min): Arrival of Columbia at Shuttle Landing Facility after STS-1, demate off of 747 aircraft, launch preps inside Orbiter Processing Facility and Vehicle Assembly Building, rollout to launch pad, countdown highlights, launch, on-orbit, landing, return of shuttle to Florida for STS-3.

 

STS-3 Complete Mission (43 Min): Arrival of Columbia at Shuttle Landing Facility post STS-2, pre-flight processing, rollout to launch pad, arrival of crew in T-38 aircraft, launch countdown highlights, launch, on-orbit, landing. Preflight interviews with astronauts and flight controllers.

 

STS-4 Complete Mission (45 Min): Starts with launch replays, countdown picks up at T-3 hours with NASA Hugh Harris commentary, crew suit-up, crew ingress into Columbia, launch, landing coverage begins with chase aircraft footage at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

 

STS-5 Complete Mission (44 Min): Arrival of Columbia at Shuttle Landing Facility after STS-4, processing in Orbiter Processing Facility, rollout to launch pad 39A, arrival of crew before launch in T-38 aircraft, launch, on-orbit operations, satellite deployment, landing, launch replays.

 

STS-5 Launch Countdown (90 Min): NASA select TV of launch countdown, picks up going into T-20 minute hold. Video quality not great.

 

STS-6 Flight Readiness Firing (60 Min): Press briefing before engine test firing with Hugh Harris and Al Ohara. Engine test firing of Challenger engines prior to first flight. Press briefing post engine test firing with Hugh Harris, Al Ohara, James Odom.

 

STS-6 Complete Mission (45 Min): Begins with landing of Challenger at Edwards Air Force Base, crew walk around after landing. Coverage switches to launch countdown highlights, final countdown from T-9 minutes, launch, on-orbit TDRS deployment, first space shuttle EVA highlights.

 

STS-6 Launch Countdown (90 Min): Countdown Footage begins at T-3 hours with ice inspection of mobile launch platform, crew breakfast, crew transport to launch pad, ingress into Challenger, hatch closure, launch, launch replays.

 

STS-6 Post Flight Conference (50 Min): Rollout of newest space shuttle to launch pad (30 min), post launch press conference at the Kennedy Space Center (20 min).
