How will the Space Shuttle be remembered?

Do you have a shuttle story to share? We want to hear it.

Abort

If you look over some old shuttle manifests you will see STS-41F on the schedule for August 24, 1984. But if you look for any mission footage you won’t find it and that’s because STS-41D and STS-41F were combined after the aborted launch of Discovery that June.

In order to stay on track for the remainder of the year, NASA decided to combine payloads and skip over STS-41F. That mission was to be commanded by Karol Bobko along with Donald Williams, Rhea Seddon, Jeffery Hoffman and David Griggs. That crew would eventually fly STS-51D.
